Costume Jewelry is a very misunderstood piece of unusual jewelry because it is quirky and unique. Why go for something ordinary, when you can get something that’s distinctive and really stands out. These types of accessories are cool because they can come in different colors and styles. For instance, if you want to buy a charm necklace, and you are a gothic-type girl, wouldn’t it be wicked if you bought a chain necklace with a skull charm? Instead of a regular silver dainty pendant, which seems boring? A lot more creativity and dedication go into making quirky and unusual jewelry, which is why they are more interesting than other normal jewelry pieces. But not everybody appreciates quirky Costume Jewelry due to many misconceptions about it.

1.    They are not sufficiently classy

Every piece of jewelry can be classy if you wear it right. Most times how classy a jewelry piece looks depends on the wearer, not the jewelry itself. 2.    They are only for cheap people

This is a very big misconception that needs to be stopped immediately. That’s like saying only cheap people have a unique and creative mind. Wearing unconventional costume jewelry may not be your thing, but sometimes stepping outside your comfort zone can add an alternate look to your wardrobe. Eccentric jewelry is like vintage pieces because they are distinctive and unusual.  Building a collection of outlandish jewelry should be fun and exciting. After all, we need to have a pair of earrings for every outfit…right.

3.    They are cheesy and childish

Most people are of the opinions that only children should wear quirky jewelry because edgy earrings, animal pendants, charm bracelets, etc., does not look expensive. Quirky jewelry is supposed to be expressive and being expressive is not childish in any way. If the best way you know how to express your love for your partner is getting a half love shaped pendant for both of you, please do it. Expensive or cheap it’s the thought that counts and that is all what quirky jewelry is about.
